A 97,500 square foot office building located in Massachusetts. B2Q provided an in depth field investigation and energy calculations which resulted in a financial incentive from the local electric utility, NSTAR. B2Q was then hired to design the system changes, commission the new work and verify the project savings.

B2Q designed a bio-diesel fueled cogeneration system for this bakery located in Cambridge Massachusetts. The design involved mechanical, electrical, fire protection and structural changes to accommodate the bio-diesel cogeneration unit. The cogen system is recovering waste heat for use in heating hot water for the process and for building heat. |

A 2,000,000 square foot light industrial/office space in North Andover, MA. Currently, B2Q is recommissioning the facility’s 35,000 point HVAC control system. Integration of sophisticated control algorithms and system schedules is expected to result in 575kW of peak demand reduction. Repair and recalibration of sensors, valves, and pumps will optimize system performance. In 2006, B2Q converted a high-pressure steam distribution system to low pressure and designed two new gas-fired steam plants. The new system successfully made it through its first heating season. This project qualified for the largest single rebate ever provided by the gas utility. |
B2Q commissioned the MEP systems for a new high-rise residence hall on the Rhode Island College campus in Providence, RI. This project achieved a Silver Rating in the USGBC LEED for New Construction Program. |
A new construction project, the Center for Wellness and Community Investment. The project currently is a 54,000 square foot new gymnasium/natatorium/lecture hall for the College of New Rochelle. The project has a goal of achieving a LEED Silver rating through the USGBC’s LEED Certification Program. |

B2Q Associates, Inc. was the lead investigator for this retrocommissioning project, which focused on identifying opportunities for energy savings and operational changes given the relatively high energy costs and low operational use of the facility. |
B2Q recommissioned this four story, 70,000 square foot facility in Westborough, MA. Economizer controls, setpoint adjustment, air system rebalancing, and optimization of equipment runtime schedules were performed for the customer to minimize energy usage and cost. |
B2Q Associates, Inc. was the lead investigator for retro-commissioning of this middle school located in Southborough, MA. Equipment set-points and operating schedules were adjusted to maximize energy efficiency at the school. Controls (DDC) work ensured proper operation of variable speed drives, dampers, temperature setback controls, and optimal start procedures. |
