DEMAND RESPONSE
Demand Response Studies are quick, high value studies of a facility to determine the opportunities for reducing electric demand during peak periods. Reducing demand during peak periods can help facilities lower operating costs by minimizing charges associated with electric demand. These studies can help with identifying trends in electric use, costly spikes in energy consumption, and building energy consumption patterns. They also provide “training” to prepare the building and staff for the future, when in some areas real-time pricing and the potential for energy cost savings will be in effect, changing dynamically in response to current electric demands across the electric grid. Demand charges can be a very large component of the total electric bill, and responding to these charges may shift operational patterns to take advantage of the lowest cost electric prices. |
